HSMG Partners with Antelope Valley Hospital to Provide In-Patient Hospitalist Services

Hospitalist Services Medical Group (HSMG) is excited to announce that Antelope Valley Hospital has contracted for HSMG to provide In-Patient Hospitalist Services. The program will be launched on May 5, 2009.
A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients in the hospital. Our hospitalists work with emergency department physicians, your primary care physician (PCP) and any necessary specialists to provide a seamless transition, from admission to discharge to outpatient follow-up.
Hospitalists are available to provide care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are accessible throughout the hospital stay. They know every specialty and department in the hospital and are in the hospital all day, ready to assist you. During critical and stressful moments, they will provide honest and considerate answers to your questions and will be able to spend time talking to you and your family about your care at times when your primary care physician is not available.
Once you have been discharged from the hospital, your hospitalist will send a complete summary of the care you received. Your hospitalist will ensure your PCP will be prepared to provide your necessary follow-up care. If you do not have an established physician at the time of your discharge from the hospital, your hospitalist and the discharge planning staff will work together to coordinate your follow-up needs.
Hospitalist Services Medical Group, a division of Valley Emergency Physicians, was formed in 1998 in response to the increasing demand for physicians who specialize with in-patient medicine. HSMG currently provides Hospitalist Services to five additional hospitals.
